Arthroscopic surgery is a surgical procedure used for visualization and treatment of structures inside the joint. In this procedure, a thin, flexible tube called an arthroscope is inserted into the joint. The arthroscope contains a camera and a lighting system, allowing the surgeon to see inside the joint.

Arthroscopic surgery can be used to assess joint damage, treat cartilage injuries, take biopsies of intra-articular tissues, remove loose bodies, or perform surgical interventions. This surgery is usually minimally invasive, resulting in smaller incisions and faster recovery.

Arthroscopy is commonly performed in joint areas such as the knee, shoulder, elbow, wrist, ankle, hip, and ankle. It is a widely used technique for evaluating and treating intra-articular problems.
